Building Literacy through Podcasts, Documentaries and Video Production

Step away from traditional writing tasks to open up a world of possibilities for students to hone their reading, writing and oral communication skills through digital media projects. As technology advances, it is becoming increasingly important for students to be able to make and share meaning in different modes and formats; to create, collaborate and communicate effectively.

This is a hands-on session that will walk educators through the process of designing media production projects using various examples of failures and successes accumulated over the years. Learn what worked, what didn’t, how to structure units and the best digital tools to support the process.
